Creatively called “Northern Lights” or “Night Club” jewelry by TKR, Black Locust trees are very hard, durable and grow faster than any other known hardwood tree. Ranging from a pale greenish-yellow to a darker brown with intricate fine grain texture, this unique wood is also fluorescent. Under a black light this wood “lights up” showing off its unique glowing color. Historically this wood was used as fence posts, poles or railroad ties due to its naturally rot, decay and mildew resistant properties.
